Top 7 of 2017
As we reflect on 2017, one theme is clear. It was a year that saw the global scientific community come together like never before.
The power of science to unite us all is evident in our top 7 highlights from 2017:
1. Impressive Impact
From the time a shipment arrives, we love tracking the impact of Instrumental Access equipment.
Here are some of the stories of scientific achievement from around the world that we were proud to share in 2017:
- Searching for Microbial Treasures and Threats in Jamaica’s Riverton City Dump
- Equipping the Next Generation of Scientists and Medical Workers in Ghana
- Cutting a Ribbon for Cutting-edge Research in the Dominican Republic
- Bolstering Bioengineering in Peru
- Unearthing Potential in Namibia's Termite Mounds
Our partners make our work possible and attendees at our annual Positively Instrumental celebration know we love to celebrate them!
At the event last March, we honored three outstanding donors, Harvard University, Merck, and GE Healthcare Life Sciences, whose support was instrumental in 2017.
We also introduced our Instrumental Access 2017 awardees (15 talented groups from 13 countries) and welcomed them to our family of scientists now spanning 30 countries.
In March 2018, we will be welcoming a new group of awardees, so stay tuned!
3. A Partnership Promoting Publishing
Thanks to our partners at American Journal Experts (AJE), we shared a series of essential publishing tips this fall drawn from AJE's info-packed Author Resource Center.
Whether you're just starting to prepare your first manuscript or are a publishing veteran, we've got resources that will make it easier for you!
4. A Guest Spot in the New England Biolabs Catalog
This oft-referenced catalog holds a fond place in our hearts.
Last February, we were thrilled to see Seeding Labs featured in its pages as one of NEB's "Passion In Science" awardees.
5. Welcoming Four New Board Members
Nearly doubling the size of Seeding Labs’ Board, four new face joined us at a time where scientific support around the globe is needed more than ever.
We appreciate their efforts to grow Seeding Labs’ connections among the global scientific community in the US and abroad.
Last April, we stood up for science at the March for Science in Boston.
After consulting with our partners worldwide, we proudly carried a "Science is Global" poster featuring the phrase in their languages (you can still download it today!).
To keep the momentum going, we shared three ways you can stand up for science today and into 2018.
7. Awards & Honors
In 2017, Seeding Labs and our CEO Nina Dudnik were honored with two notable awards.
In January, the Innovation All-Star honor from the Boston Business Journal recognized our CEO for Seeding Labs' efforts catalyzing the innovation economy worldwide.
In March, Seeding Labs was also named a finalist for the prestigious Lipman Family Prize, which honors outstanding leadership and innovation among organizations creating positive social impact.
We extend heartfelt thanks to all who supported us in 2017. Help us keep the momentum going with a gift to close out the year. You'll be supporting talented researchers around the world with the gift of science. Donate now!
